Spencer Reed, guitarist and vocalist has been performing continually since 1972. Born and raised in New York City, Spencer traveled to lots of gigs by subway. Spencer toured with the USO throughout the Caribbean and Panama and after freelancing in New York settled in the Pocono Mts. of Pennsylvania where he resides and works with his wife, singer and bassist Nancy Reed. The two have performed often at the Deer Head Inn, a jazz landmark. Spencer has accompanied many popular singers such as Billy Ekstine, the Fifth Dimension, Robert Goulet, Sergio Franchi, Frankie Laine, Bobby Rydell and many others that travel through the Pocono Mountain area.

  
  Spencer has recorded with Bob Dorough, appeared in the Central Pa. Festival of the Arts and performed with the Bob Crosby Bobcats at the Bix Beiderbeck Jazz Festival in Davenport, Iowa, the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee in California, the Red Nichols Jazz Festival in Utah, the San Juan Islands Jazz Festival in Washington and the Wildflower Music Festival in Pa.

    
Spencer has received two state grants from the Pennsylvania Council for the Arts to produce Pocono Musicians Presents, a television show on local cable TV13 BRC.

     Spencer is currently the guitar instructor at
Blair Academy in Blairstown, NJ and also maintains a schedule of private students.

    Spencer has written and produced three big band variety shows performed at Caesar's Pocono and other resorts.

     Nancy Reed and Spencer Reed can be seen on national television on BET network's Jazz Discovery program.
